Easy to figure out where to meet, boat was right there by our cruise ship. The Capitan and people helping on the boat were fantastic. Seating inside or out was a nice option. We sat outside since we dressed in waterproof clothes, knowing Alaska has a lot of rain, and that we would be out on the water, in wind. Dress warm, bring gloves, and a good hat. Even though I wore wool socks and had good hiking boots on, my toes were freezing by the end of the day. Great sight seeing for eagles, whales, sea otters, and the little scenic islands around Sitka. Dinner was delicious. We were glad we booked this tour.

Driver was awesome (Corrina)! Very fun informative day with lots of activities packed in. Whale watching was spectacular- whales in every direction! The salmon bake area is fun to explore too. Would have loved a little bit more time at Mendenhall glacier to explore Nugget Falls longer because it was beautiful. Overall a great time!

We lucked out to do this excursion in beautiful sunny weather with smooth seas and excellent visibility. That did help us to have an amazing experience. Conner our naturalist was informative and knowledgeable. We saw several whales...otters, sea lions, eagles on our tour. Binoculars were provided on each seat row. We enjoyed learning about the wildlife and area. The lunch at the lodge was outstanding. We were so impressed with the prime rib and crab and all the delicious sides. Our party of 6 agreed this was one of the 2 best meals we had on a 7 day cruise. The staff at the lodge were friendly. There were great picture taking opportunities. Overall this excursion was one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska.

Fantastic Taste of Juneau
We had a fantastic whale watching tour with Joey and Claire! They took us right to a dozen humpbacks, which we watched for nearly an hour, and shared good information along the way. We also saw sea lions and harbor porpoises (which they said are usually elusive). They answered our questions and took the time to help my daughter identify the whales by name using the marks on their flukes.The hour we spent at the Mendenhall Glacier was unguided. Sadly, the trail to Nugget Falls was closed due to flood concerns. We enjoyed the views and visitors exhibits.The salmon bake lunch has such a cozy vibe in an idyllic setting. The food itself was good—not exceptional, but good. The sounds of the creek flowing, the sight of hanging flower baskets, the smell of salmon cooked over a wood fire, and the chance to toast marshmallows… these are the things I’ll remember!!
