Welcome to Whittier

Whittier Alaska is a port, wilderness outpost, and former military base 60 miles south of Anchorage at the head of Passage Canal in the western reaches of Prince William Sound. Although only about 280 people live in Whittier year-round, thousands of seasonal visitors arrive by car, ferry, and cruise ship. The town sits beneath glaciated peaks, and the protected waters are perfect for fishing, sea kayaking, and taking sightseeing cruises to see the world’s largest concentration of tidewater glaciers along with whales, marine animals, and sea bird colonies. Most Whittier residents live in one condominium building, and the town has several other interesting sights and historical monuments.

Easy to find in terminal, bus was spacious and comfortable. Our driver, Tallon, was wonderful. We wished we had a little bit more time at the Wildlife Conservation. The kids thoroughly enjoyed being able to see the animals we've watched on TV up close and personal. Wet and muddy, but we were prepared with boots.

I would have rated it 4☆ due to the miserable, foggy, rainy day we had; however, the company is not responsible for the weather. I am giving 5☆ due to the excellent guide/driver, Christopher, that we had. Inspite of having NO views of the mountains, Christopher made the best of the tour that he could by remaining friendly and positive. He is very knowledgeable and shared many interesting facts about the area between Whittier and Anchorage. He speaks clearly and is easy to understand even in the rear seats. He arranged for a plan B stop at a fun panning for gold site since we could not do the hike due to the rain. He is also good at communicating before pick up at the port. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a leisurely, comfortable and interesting drive to the airport. Ask for Christopher 😊

Great transfer! We had a lot of rain but Kim did a great job making the stops as enjoyable as possible. We loved the conservation center and the chocolate factory, and the whole tour was very smooth. What a great experience! Our tour guide Adam was knowledgeable, friendly, and went out of his way to accommodate requests of everyone in the group. At the end of the tour he dropped us off for a great dinner in downtown Anchorage and then came back a few hours later to drive us to the airport. Truly above and beyond our wildest expectations!The stops along the tour from Whittier to Anchorage were great and we really enjoyed being able to go on multiple nature walks during the day. The coach was clean, comfortable, and had charging ports. The provided snacks were a nice touch too.This tour was a wonderful way to wrap up our trip to Alaska. Highly recommend!

It was awesome experience! The glaciers themselves were amazing but I want to emphasize the super cool service that was provided by the crew! They went above and beyond to make the trip comfortable and memorable with serving food and snacks and then they picked up some glacier ice, made sure that everyone had a chance to hold it and take some pictures, and then served the ice to taste and even made some cocktails with it . That was fun! Our captain was a young lady as well as the most crew except the bartender, and they were amazing! Go ladies!!! Great job!

Our last day in AK and booked this excursion to pass the time between ship and flight. It was an awesome day! Started with excellent communication day before and during pickup. The coach was beautiful and the snacks were a nice surprise - especially compared to no snacks on Princess booked excursions. We made many stops at scenic spots, including a small hike to a waterfall in a rainforest. Also a hike into a glacier with up front and personal opportunities to be on/near the glacier. We saw a wild moose and eagles nest. The nature conservatory site was a perfect balance of walking and driving to see the animals. June, our guide, couldn’t have been more amazing! She even waited for us to eat dinner in Anchorage before taking us to the airport. Highly recommend this family-owned business for your excursion out of Wittier. They do northern lights excursions out of Fairbanks in the winter! I would definitely book again!
