Our flight departed from the dock next to the ship where our pilot was waiting. We got to see beautiful views over the mountains and alpine lakes, saw some wildlife, and got a view of Sitka and the Sound. We even saw whales from the air. We are so happy we booked this flight!

Easy to figure out where to meet, boat was right there by our cruise ship. The Capitan and people helping on the boat were fantastic. Seating inside or out was a nice option. We sat outside since we dressed in waterproof clothes, knowing Alaska has a lot of rain, and that we would be out on the water, in wind. Dress warm, bring gloves, and a good hat. Even though I wore wool socks and had good hiking boots on, my toes were freezing by the end of the day. Great sight seeing for eagles, whales, sea otters, and the little scenic islands around Sitka. Dinner was delicious. We were glad we booked this tour.

Humpback whales, sea otters and Steller sea lions. We were lucky and saw a pod of humpback whales. Captain stopped the engine. The whales came over to check us out. They hung around the boat for 10 - 15 minutes. They were so close you could smell their breath (stinky). We just floated and they swam around us. Amazing. We also saw sea otters and Steller sea lions (smaller females). Crew were great. Friendly. Lot of information. Answered our questions. We got very, very lucky. Hopefully you will also.

We had an excellent experience with Sitka Tundra Tours during our Alaska cruise. Our tour was arranged by our travel agent, Pat Hand of Dancing Moon Travel in Florida, and everything came together perfectly. We are a group of photo club members from HoustonPhotowalks, and this tour worked perfectly for what we were looking for. Everything went perfectly from start to finish, and this was easily a five-star experience for our group. Darryl was our guide, and I highly recommend asking for him. We were particularly interested in photography, and he really knew the area and where to take us for interesting photo opportunities. He spent the day with us exploring several locations around Sitka, helping us find birds, good areas to see and photograph salmon, and taking us to Fortress of the Bear. Darryl was knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, and clearly knew Sitka extremely well. He scouted several locations the previous day to make sure they were good-to-go for our excursion. Rather than feeling like we were simply being driven between tourist stops, it felt like we had a local showing us the area and helping us make the most of our limited time in port. The van was clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. Our group had plenty of room, even with all of our photography gear (10 people). Five stars out of five. We would absolutely work with Sitka Tundra Tours again, and we highly recommend requesting Darryl as your guide.
