Saw lots of sealife. The Captain /Tour narrator was exceptionally good! He was very informative without overloading information, seemed genuinely enthusiastic himself, and conveyed the sense that we were in very good hands. The whole tour experience from booking to the end, when we retrieved our stored luggage, was very fast and friendly. It is an outstanding company!

Travelled with family. Capitan Nicole was knowledgeable and fun, she found us many wildlife to see: bold eagle, otters, seals, puffins, beautiful glaciers..... and most luckily we saw a few Fin Whales and Humpback Whales. The weather was nice enough on the way out. Crew members are nice. Highly recommended!

Beautiful scenery! We were worried because it was rainy, but it was a great tour - saw humpback whale, puffins, goat, sea lions, otter, seals, and an eagle.

Captain was exceptionally good and so was the cabin crew— we loved the experience!

It's very COLD and windy but totally worth it! The staff was outstanding and very informative. They made sure we had everything we need for a great day at sea. We had plenty of chances to get all photo angles of seals, goats, whales, otters, puffins etc.

Definitely worth the money. We got the best guide as well, Joe! He was very knowledgeable about the marine life, history, and more! His stories were fascinating and he made this kayaking trip so much fun. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and Joe made it special by going above and beyond. He even got photos of us together. Chill and peaceful vibes. Would definitely recommend.

It was a beautiful experience. Crew was very attentive. Sandwiches were good-cold but good. Overall I think you get to see gaciars and wildlife that otherwise you would never see.

Spent time with everyone on cruise. We saw all the wildlife expected but humpback whales. We saw a glacier calving.

There are trips that show you a place, and then there are journeys that completely immerse you in them. For me, the Coastal Classic train from Seward to Anchorage was exactly that, a bucket-list experience that lived up to every single expectation. Stepping onto the 6:00 PM train on September 2nd, 2025, I had no idea that the next four hours would unfold like a perfectly timed cinematic masterpiece.As we pulled away, the journey began along the familiar shores of Resurrection Bay before transitioning into the striking, silt-heavy turquoise waters of Kenai Lake. I looked out my window as that vibrant water stretched on for 16 stunning miles. Soon, the landscape transformed as the train began its steady climb into the rugged Kenai Mountains, leaving the road system completely behind.The true crown jewel of the trip arrived almost exactly two hours later. Around 7:50 PM, we reached the grand alpine summit at Grandview (about 1,063 feet up). It is the highest point on this rail line and is famous for offering a sweeping view of the massive river of ice cascading down the valley. This is a pristine, roadless backcountry section of the Chugach National Forest—a world completely hidden from cars, entirely preserved, and visible only to those of us on the rails. Looking through the window, I caught sight of the Grandview Whistle Stop signposts standing beside the remote shelter structures—a lonely outpost in the vast, silent wilderness.As the train began to wind through the loops of the Placer River Valley, the engineering of the tracks felt like a gift to photography lovers. Right around 8:10 PM, the train curved along the famous sub-alpine loop tracks, crossing over the valley floor. The tracks snake and wind tightly through the lush alpine meadows and valley walls. This specific engineering layout allows photographers to capture both the locomotives and the passenger cars curving together against the wilderness backdrop. It offers everyone an unobstructed, breathtakingly close look at the towering hanging snowfields of Bartlett Glacier. Right nearby, the historic wooden-arched Placer River Bridge came into view, beautifully backdropped by the unforgettable, towering blue wall of Spencer Glacier. Seeing that dense blue ice rise right next to the rustic bridge was a beautiful testament to human grit in this wild terrain.For the final hour, the energy in the train shifted to quiet anticipation as we entered Turnagain Arm. Hugging the shoreline fjord under a gorgeous, soft evening light, I was absolutely glued to the window. Passing near Milepost 88.3 to 90 of the line, I caught an eerie, fascinating view of the Girdwood Ghost Forest. Seeing those pale columns of dead trees standing bare in the tidal flats, a somber memento of the 1964 Great Alaska Earthquake—was incredibly powerful. I spent the remaining miles scanning the rugged cliffs for Dall sheep and searching the waters for the pale crest of a beluga whale. Though the wildlife decided to stay hidden that evening, it didn’t take an ounce of magic away from the experience. As we finally pulled into Anchorage, ending our four hours and 15 min. voyage, I realized that the real treasure wasn't a specific animal sighting—it was the pure, uninterrupted privilege of witnessing Alaska’s wildest spaces unfold right before my eyes.

Adam was very accommodating for this full-day experience, from the time of our cruise ship pickup in Seward to airport drop-off in Anchorage. He selected a wide variety of natural attractions and gave us interesting commentary along the way. Glaciers, wildlife, scenic beauty, and a serviceable lunch spot all fit the bill.

Really spectacular scenery. And very smooth logistics. A wonderful way to travel. My only complaint is that a more kid-friendly meal option would have been nice, but my kid is more picky than most.

We visited Seward in late July and had the trip of a lifetime! We were fortunate enough to have Rob from Adventure 60 North as our guide for two incredible adventures.Our first tour was a kayak trip on Resurrection Bay. Rob had all of our gear prepared and ready to go, and even though it was rainy, the provided rain gear kept us warm and dry. We stopped for lunch and took a short hike to a beautiful waterfall. One of the women on our tour had some mobility challenges, and I was especially impressed watching Rob hike backward while holding her hands and making sure she felt safe and supported. Throughout the trip, he pointed out landmarks and wildlife and shared so much interesting information. He was knowledgeable, funny, patient, and incredibly attentive.Later that day, Rob guided us on a hike of Exit Glacier. His knowledge of the glacier and Kenai Fjords National Park was amazing. Along the way, we learned about the plant life, geology, and geography of this breathtaking landscape.I feel incredibly lucky that we had Rob as our guide. There is no doubt that we would have missed so much if we had explored these places on our own.
