Great Kayak experience
We booked the 3 hour Kayak tour with Fairweather Kayaks. Easy directions from our cruise port via the gondola. They drove us to their kayak launch in town, provided some gear including a water proof cell phone case and a kayak splash guard the got us in the Kayaks. These flat bottom kayaks are very stable and we did not get wet. They even push you out so your shoes and pants stay dry! The only caution is that it is close to 3 hours of kayaking and if you haven’t done it before, it will wear you out! They do have a motor boat following the group for safety and they also take some great photos of everything for you. They provide you a FREE link to download these photos at the end of the day which was wonderful! They also give you a bottle of water in the kayak to drink as needed and some small snacks on the way back to the dock. The wristband they provide lets you take their shuttle back to the dock at your own pace as it leaves every 30 min for their base. This allows you to browse around town a bit before going back. Every member of their team was wonderful, friendly, and ready to help! Overall it was an amazing experience but just be aware it is a lot of kayaking!

Amazing! We highly recommend this experience. The company is family owned and operated and they are great. The captain was very knowledgeable and took us right to everything we wanted to see. The boat is new, has snacks and is extremely nice. The humpback whales were bubble net fishing which was amazing!! 10/10

Literally the most epic excursion of my life! Im obsessed with whales and we last minute booked this after locking down my parents to watch my toddler on our Icy Strait port day. I'm so thankful for this excursion! Easy meaning place, clear instructions to get there. Great boat, great crew... but the showstopper?? DOZENS of whales. I know I can't judge a whale watching tour by the amount of whales that show off.. .but when this may show off? Top 10 day! The captain said the amount of activity is not normal, so I count myself blessed! They knew where to go, we saw bears, TONS of otters, and probably 12+ whales doing every imaginable whale thing that day. THANK YOU for the AMAZING DAY!!! So thankful!

We had a wonderful experience with John and Marilyn. This was one of the best tours my family has done. They shared stories of their culture and the island from living there for multiple generations. They took extra time with us to do their best so we had a great time and saw bear. We ended up seeing 9 bear that day including a total of four cubs!

This is the ONLY tour I have seen that maintains a small boat off in the distance in the case of emergency during the kayaking adventure. Cold hands, covers provided. Equipment for all types of weather and help during each and every part of the tour. Afterward we were graced with professional quality nature photos of our time AND US! We had booked the tour privately for our celebrity summit visit. We did not know the couple that owned and ran the operation before meeting them that morning. They were both delightful and engaging with enthusiasm for our trip that matched those going whale watching. Going out we learned that the whales were active about 18 miles out. I was very glad we were on the brand new 40 something ft. Catamaran they use. A small 6 pack boat it would have been a rough trip.The boat had great seating for 13 people so that e everyone could see inside and one coukd safely go completely around the perimeter of the boat. When we saw huge double decker Catamarans full of 50 or 60 folks when we got to the feeding grounds whales were using. We were glad we were not part of tge throng gravitating to get a view of the action at any time. The boat they have is perfect!! We say lots and lots of whales, some breaching and learned a lot about them, about the island itself and its history. Of many whale watching experiences over the years this was the top.

Great trip - highly recommend
The trip waa very well organised and on time. The boat was well equipped and comfortable. After a briefing from the captain we made our way to where the eagles were last known (about 40 mins away) and saw a group of humpback surfacing, dicing and even breaching. We also saw a group of 3 orcas who got up close and personal around the boat. Would definitely recommend.
