One and a Half Hour Private Summer Sled Dog Experience
Overview
In Two Rivers, where sled dogs outnumber people, immerse yourself in husky happiness during a Private Summer Sled Dog Experience. Meet the exceptionally athletic and endearingly goofy huskies from local dog teams. Learn from passionate mushers not about their hobby, but their lifestyle. Try on mushing gear that allows humans and dogs to thrive at -40F winter temperatures. Be hands-on with the hooking up and harnessing of the team, then join the team for a short 45-second ride (to ensure dogs don't overheat, the teams go for a short run).
This tour is perfect for dog lovers who want to spend lots of time with the huskies and learn about the mushing lifestyle from a local musher and their team.

What To Expect
Travelers will meet their musher/guide at the maroon yurt, then walk down to the dog yard. In the dog yard, they'll meet the musher's personal dog team. No dogs live on site. Musher's bring their own personal dog teams with them from home to offer tours each day. Visitors will get to meet each dog, learn a bit about their personalities, and dive into the world of dog sledding. The musher will teach the participants how to harness and hook up the dog team. If interested, visitors will assist in the harnessing and hooking up process. The dogs will be hooked to a motorized cart, at which time, the visitors and musher will hop on and join the dogs for a 45-second ride. After experiencing the dogs in action, the dogs will be let loose to cool off and spend more time with the visitors. Visitors will have the opportunity to see a sled, try on mushing gear, and hear stories from the trails!
