Anchorage Scenic Mountain Bike Tour
Overview
Explore beyond Anchorage with a knowledgeable local guiding the way. Drive just 30 minutes to reach the Flattop Scenic Overlook in Glen Alps, where you'll find yourself 2,000 feet above Anchorage and the Cook Inlet, offering breathtaking views. After getting fitted for a bike and helmet, embark on an adventure into the mountains. The trail is a wide double track of dirt and gravel, making this a non-technical mountain bike ride, great for anyone who enjoys adventure and knows how to ride a bike.
As you venture into the wilderness, learn about the natural and human history of the Chugach Mountains. Look for wildlife such as moose, bears, ptarmigan, and Dall sheep inhabiting the valley floor and mountain slopes. Leave the city behind as you steadily bike up and out of the valley floor, enjoying the panoramic views along the way. Enjoy the fast and fun ride back to the starting point after taking a break to soak in the sounds of marmots, songbirds, and the babbling creek.
