What To Expect

Experience a unique way to explore Alaska on this guided Segway adventure through Tongass rainforest. Perfect for first-time riders, this small-group tour combines incredible scenery and local history.
Your certified Segway guide will meet you on the cruise ship docks before a scenic 12-mile shuttle ride along the coastline into Fish Creek Valley on Douglas Island. After receiving a helmet and short training, you’ll quickly learn how easy it is to ride a Segway.
Then the adventure begins as you glide along a Nordic ski trail surrounded by alpine meadows and towering Sitka spruce and hemlock trees. The wide-tire Segway provides a smooth ride along gentle slopes and forest paths.
Along the way your guide shares stories about Alaska’s wildlife, plants, and history. The tour includes scenic photo stops, riding through an old-growth rainforest and a chance to learn about the historic Treadwell Ditch from Juneau’s gold-mining era.
